The Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) has updated its ranking of the best heat pump air conditioners for domestic use, since we are talking about 2.5 kW and 3.5 kW power ratings, i.e. for medium-sized rooms or even for a living/dining room.

As we have been able to verify, for the selection of the Top 3 in each of the powers that we have mentioned, several aspects have been taken into account, such as the price of the equipment, the energy class in cooling and heating and therefore the efficiency, as well as the sound level, the consumption when in standby mode, or if they have Eco mode, among others.

In our humble opinion, the selection of the Top 3 is perfectly “valid”, as we are talking about top brands such as Daikin, Panasonic or Mitsubishi Electric, and all of them are “winning horses”. Top 3 best 2.5 kW heat pump air conditioners

• Daikin FTXM25R / RXM25R (Perfera): The best in the category with an overall rating of 7.4 out of 10. The OCU comparator reveals that the product has very good heating efficiency and highlights its comfort level thanks to its good air distribution and homogeneity. However, its standby energy consumption could be improved, they add.
• Daikin FTXM25N / RXM25N9: In second place in the ranking with a score of 7.3. It is a device that has very good quality at a more than reasonable price and with low energy consumption, say the OCU analysts. However, they point out that the time it takes to reach the desired cooling temperature could be reduced.
• Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-EF25VGK / MUZ-EF25VG: Third on the podium. Although the OCU does not reveal its pros and cons, we do know that it received a score of 7.1 out of 10.

The 3 best heat pump air conditioners with 3.5 kW capacity

• Daikin FTXM35R / RXM35R (Perfera): With a rating of 7.1 out of 10, experts say it takes little time to reach comfort temperature. In addition, it has a weekly programmer in which the day, time and temperature can be set. On the downside, the OCU only specifies that the standby consumption and the temperature difference between the desired temperature and the temperature reached could be improved.
• Panasonic KIT-Z35-TKE (CS-Z35TKEW / CU-Z35TKE): the device from the Japanese brand gets a 6.9 score. Although no further details are given in the analysis of this product.
• Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-EF35VGK / MUZ-EF35VG: In third position, it has a rating of 6.8. These units are also available in 3 different colours, Pearl White, Metallic Grey, or Night Black.
