What is nanoe™ X technology?

nanoe™ X technology is an air purification technique developed by Panasonic. It consists of a titanium electrode that is used to atomise water and produce nano-sized water particles. These particles contain a large amount of hydroxyl radicals, which are highly unstable and reactive molecules.

Hydroxyl radicals have a deodorising and disinfecting effect on the air, as they react easily with a variety of substances, including viruses, bacteria, allergens and odours. How does nanoe™ X technology work?

Panasonic’s nanoe™ X technology uses an electrostatic atomisation process to collect invisible moisture from the air and apply a high voltage to produce hydroxyl radicals contained in water. These radicals are contained in nano-sized water particles and have a longer lifetime than normal hydroxyl radicals.

Water-containing hydroxyl radicals are capable of eliminating viruses and bacteria in the air, as well as neutralising odours and allergens. Because hydroxyl radicals are contained in water, their effects are more far-reaching and longer-lasting.

  • Maintenance-free: Nanoe™ X technology requires no maintenance or replacement, as it is generated by the Nanoe™ X Generator Mark 2.
  • Actively fills the space: Nanoe™ X technology has the ability to actively fill the entire room, which means its particles can reach every corner of the room. In addition, it can inhibit adhering and airborne pollutants, even beyond the device’s filter.
  • Safe, non-chemical particles: The hydroxyl radicals generated by nanoe™ X technology are safe, non-chemical particles that have been tested in laboratories and institutes. This technology has been proven to be safe for humans and animals, and does not cause harm or irritation to the skin or eyes.

Panasonic has launched the latest version of the nanoe™ X Generator Mark 3 with 48 billion hydroxyl radicals per second, the highest number in the history of nanoe™ technology, this device is 100 times more powerful than the traditional nanoe™ generator. This high number of hydroxyl radicals is fundamental to the nanoe™ X’s effectiveness in cleaning the air, enabling the Mark 3 to deliver even greater performance in the removal of bacteria, viruses, mould, PM 2.5, allergens and odours.
